Carbon Footprint

‘The Power of OpaltOne’

You have probably heard this statement before. It only takes one person to make a change. It's true. One person can start the ball rolling, others will see and hear the benefits and the power of one grows into a significant environment change for the better.

‘A journey of 1000 miles starts with the first step.’

Take that first step toward reducing your liquid waste and your Carbon Footprint. Experience the power of one.

Opaltone is an environmentally friendly solution!

This can be broken down into two significant environmental advantages, both related to a vigorous contribution to reducing your Carbon Footprint.

Let’s take a look at the use of Opaltone for the printing of flexible packaging.

Opaltone will reduce the production of toxic ink and solvent liquid waste by 50% or more (dependent on the number of Opaltone jobs printed). The Opaltone ink set is reused over and over.
There is no waste.

There are
no press wash-ups because there are no spot colors. Over time, deploying the Opaltone soultion will help reduce millions of spot colors stockpiled across our planet. Spot colors that would normally have to be removed and incinerated by authorized waste management companies.

Liquid waste removal costs money!

The liquid waste removed must be incinerated. It cannot be dumped into land fill due to its harmful toxicity. During the incineration process, CO2 emissions are emitted into the atmosphere adding to the alarming growth of Global Warming.

You can help reduce CO2 emissions by using Opaltone.

The second way Opaltone contributes to reducing your Carbon Footprint is through Opaltone’s revolutionary new inkjet proofing system.

There is no Black (K) ink!

Black ink is made from Carbon Black pigment. Opaltone simulates Black via the VK RIP technology. No black ink exists. Black is digitally simulated with (non-carbon) RGB inks. To produce Carbon Black pigment, something has to be burnt during the manufacturing process. CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere, again, contributing to Global Warming. Did you know the total world production of Carbon Black pigment is around 8.9 million metric tons per year.

Don't worry, you're not alone. Our industry has yet to discover how green friendly Opaltone really is.

An environmental breakthrough that also delivers superior color and real savings. Opaltone is a win-win for all!
